In easterly culture, taking off shoes and covering ones head whenever you face yourself to someone holy is considered a way of respecting the person.
A Sikh makes offerings (money, groceries, etc.) forward the Guru to chatter their gratitude for their blessings. Sikhs do not give donations or brotherly love to God or the Guru.
